Someone swindled 400 odd quid from my PP account. Same story with them, blaming me, refusing to do anything but they didn't close my account, just refused to refund the money. Went to my bank and also to the Financial Ombudsman Service who sent PP a nice letter that made them change their tune. Although I prematurely called the FOS (supposed to go through them as a last resort) it worked. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

Have you checked the paypal terms and conditions?
I thought you were only allowed one account per person - though presumably allowed more on businesses presuming you have multiple bank accounts in the business.
I'm pretty sure it'll say in their terms and conditions they can do as they will.
However, yes; your mate is probably ok to open a new account.
However, if I was out of pocket and it was not my fault (how was the account used, exactly?) then I'd be making a big fuss about getting the money back.
If it was my fault, I'd probably still be making a fuss . |

Clearly PP think something is not right about your friends claim...
Maybe they checked the ip address used to make the purchase or funds transfer....
As, I speak to people on a regular basis who have had their paypal accounts compromised and see refunds back from them within 10 days with no problems.
When you fraud activity. Just what do you mean? ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

What's "drop-shipping"?
When I opened my PP account the other day, I noticed someone elses name and address underneath mine as a named account holder. I thought I recognised the address as one I'd sent something out to but deleted it straight away without taking note so didn't check it Nothing had been taken out though. I use an account for Paypal that doesn't have any money in it, (until needed), and no overdraught, so, if anyone tried to rip it off, they'd get nothing out of it. It's a good idea to change the password regularly too. ____________________ Space Is Deep

Again; paypal can do what the hell they want, it's their business.
I'm presuming with a turnover of £2m it's business rather than personal accounts for your friend .
However, yes; if they decided the business was a high risk with a turn over of £2m, I'm sure they would consider closing all accounts. |

Yes, of course, it's business. I don't own any personal PayPal accounts myself either, all business accounts. |
