So I went over a bit of bumpy road yesterday and after retrieving my testicles from my mouth and returning them to their proper position - I get the feeling the suspension on my ER5 is a tad on the stiff side.

I've ridden 5 ER5's before this one (lessons), and the suspension on them was absolutley fine, but on this one i can feel literally every bump in the road.

The rear pre-load is as soft as it will go, and I reduced the tyre pressure back to the manufacturer guidelines and yet it is still as bad as it was.

Any easy way to soften it up or tell if the suspension is shot?

could be too much oil or wrong oil put it..

If your pre load is all off then it cannot be much mate.. Might be worth whipping the forks off and changing the oil if you dont know when they were last serviced.

If you can strip out the rear shock see if the swing arm will move through its full travel. If movement is limited then it sounds like the bearings need attention.
