Does not sound good.. Sounds like gearbox selector forks to me..Or it could be just the gearbox itself.. hard to tell over the net, but you should really not be riding it as you WILL do more damage..
Change the gear box and measure the selector forks to make sure these are in spec. ____________________ www.Mailorderrepairs.co.uk We service your Carburetor's, Calipers & Suspension for less Also Bike repairs undertaken. |

You're getting clunking when pulling in 1st and then when you get to high revs it turns into a machine-gun reptition of same noise?
Rounded gear dogs on 1st gear. You've probably battered a notch in the shift drum too.
The gearbox had to come out. Being a gixxer, you might be lucky and find you can pull the bottom casing off to get at the gearbox without stripping off the top-end. |
Yeah, this is the case. I did the gearbox on a 750 SRAD not too long ago, and as far as gearboxes go, it's bloody simple to do. Sump off, split casings, gearbox comes out. Engine upside down preferably.
Reverse the process, job done.
Symptoms were what you describe, but in 6th gear, but IIRC, they're linked.
You'll need a new sump, clutch and generator gasket, and a tube of crankcase sealant. Fuck that thought we, so we just bought some cereal. If you ever find you have a weetabix sump gasket on your 750 gix, chances are I've been in it.
The SRAD in question was then test ridden... from Plymouth to Leeds... No problems, and now sold. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!
