I've taken my front right fork off the yoke and I've got the dust seal off, i've released the damper bolt, but I can't undo the fork cap.

The bolt is the width of the chrome stanchion. I simply don't have anything big enough to get it off.

Anyone able to help? I need a hand getting the damn thing a part.

I'd guess at least 30mm I can take a measurement.

Once you've found the right size socket, stick the fork back in the clamps and retighten them, loosen the cap and then remove the fork again.

If you do decide to use a vice then use something to protect the stanchion from the rough vice jaws. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the offer.

I've got the seals, oil, just not the equipment!

I picked up a head, but I don't have a vice to fit it in!

Stick it back in the fork clamps, tighten them and then loosen the nut off.

The bolt is flush with the stop of the yoke Sad it isn't raised like the Honda ones. I'll work something out.

I'll get a portable work bench to use as a vice.

If the leg can't be pushed higher in the yoke then how about just using the bottom clamp?

I could try that, just don't want to bend the yoke. But it's worth a try.

Put it back in the yoke and undo it, far less chance of fucking it compared to if you use a vice. Thumbs Up
