If you've got the money to burn, go for it, bikes are a bit daft anyway.
But you'll be paying loads more in insurance and a bit more in running costs for the same performance as any other 25kW bike. You'll also lose the point of an IL4 supersports, all the revvy fun at the top end. I just stumbled across a power graph that shows a Gixxer 600 (for comparison) doesn't make any more power than a GPZ500 until you pass 8000rpm, and it makes less than an ER-6 all the way up to 10,000rpm.
At the risk of aggravating the Power Rangers, have you considered the 500 twins? CB500, GPZ500S, ER-5, GS500 - likely the GS500F in your case? They cost a lot (lot) less to buy, to drop and to insure at your age, and running costs are peanuts.
No, they're not the right bikes for everyone, but don't rule them out just because "entry level" is now 600 or 650. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Insurance will be a knightmare.
To be honest i reccomend getting a Bandit 600/650 then Re stricting that then once you feel safe, De - Restrict it, then once your bored get a R6 try and get at least a Year's No Claims first before getting a R6 ____________________ RIP jack (wheelie king), you will never be forgotten.

Always read the small print with insurance.
Qoute may seem very good price however their good be a hidden excess or limted milage a year, their has been plenty of thread's on here about insruance scam's
My advice would be if your keen on the R6 go for it, btw don't use go compare for first time insurance, go with the bike insurer ring someone like bennets then someone like hastings and say i have hadf a cheaper qoute, and they will match it, they will do everything to get your doller
