Ok, so I lifted my tank off my Thundercat this morning to change the air filter and must have caught the fuel tap in the process and switched it to off

But i was curious that if you turn the ignition to and and theres no fuel in the pump, will it buzz?? as this is what seemed to occur until fuel was in the pump :S

I tried riding the bike before this and 1/4 a mile up if shut down suddenly and was very unresponsive and near the end I could tell only air was getting in because pull the throttle was acting as a brake :S

Just making sure Iv corrected the mistake and not about to get stuck before work

Fuel pump buzzes as its pumping with nothing in there. Its just the sound of it running.

That's all I needed to know Smile
It stopped when the tap went back on (obviously) But just was worried about being stranded miles away early hours on a Sunday morning because my bike wouldn't want to start cos of that

Numb nuts here will check that next time I'm fiddling round with the air filter Very Happy Thanks!

'Useful to note that, if it packs up, you can sometimes get round by-passing the fuel pump, you may find that the fuel tank needs to be full or over a certain level for the gravity feed to work but it's got me home a couple of times when I've been stuck.

Laughing Funny you should say that.
My chaly has an in-frame fuel tank, and on a standard 72cc setup, it's probably okay, but with my 150cc engine and bigger carb, it wont gravity feed under 3/4 full tank, so I fitted an inline vac pump.
Works great, but I've got a small piece of hard fuel pipe to bypass the pump if it ever packs up, neatly tucked under the seat. Razz
