I'm currently shimming my CRF 250, but there's a catch...
My inlets need doing, I need a 1.70 for one side, but the other can't get a gauge in. I've estimated it to need a 1.60 shim, but would also require a 1.55 and 1.50 just in case.
Here's the q...
Do any of you trusting fellows have these shims, and are willing to post them to me ASAP as I'm racing this saturday, but I get paid on friday... = not enough time to sort as we're camping down there friday nght. This month was literally that tight...
Any generous fellows will be rewarded with cost + interest, and/or a bike part that greatly exceeds the value of 4 shims, paid on the friday via paypal, or the item will be posted then. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

7.48mm diameter, at those thicknesses?
I don't have them but I could make some from silver steel I guess. Have to take a guess at the hardening though, and if it breaks up during the race it'll be your fault not mine
But listen - you can adjust your shims with emery, if you really have to. Just drill a 7.5mm hole in something flat, about the same thickness and put the shim in the hole, weight on top and rub it on emery until the flat support is the same thickness as the shim then keep rubbing until the shim is thinner.
OR
If you have access to a lathe and surface grinder, turn a piece of steel with a shallow 7.5mm recess in it and place the shim in the recess, stick it on the mag chuck & grind it to suit. Can also use this trick for emery. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Cheers for the offer, but I'd prefer to go down the actual component route. I'm not after a temporary fix, even though I'm sure it wouldn't break up.
I have access to lathes, mills, surface grinders and the like, but anything like that would compromise the hardening. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles.
