 |
|
Just thought I'd share with you; I've found a supplier on eBay that sells pretty decent (so far) kevlar jeans, for £45 inc P&P.
I figured I'd give them a go, when that £5 off anything voucher came up, so ordered a pair of the standard blue jeans that they did. I've only really used them for one day so far, but they're comfortable, feel well made, have decent stitching, and the kevlar coverage is better than on the draggin jeans I've got.
They're not as good as the Sartsos for the amount of kevlar used, but they're a third the price, so it's not like I've got any viable complaints.
I'm particularly pleased with the fact that they don't have the normal 'designed for orangutans' problems; my Sartsos are too long in the leg, the Draggins are far too tight across the thigh, and both of them have got crap stitching around the crotch.

They also have a set of those foam-based knee and hip armour plates with them, which are surprisingly unobtrusive when fitted. They're also a comfortable loose fit, without becoming massively baggy, which is a plus. This rather awkward photo was taken with the plates in their respective pockets; as you can see, they don't leave you with weird bulky lumps all over the place.

All told, for the money, they're unbeatable, in my opinion. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

Look good mate
I was wondering things like this aswell. The training school i'm doing my tests with also sell bikes and kit, and they have two different pairs of kevlar jeans for under £50 a piece. I was tempted but it got me wondering, is it a case of they're worse made or...
I may buy them and see! ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator

I'll give these a go when I have a bit of dosh
I have a pair of Halversons/ Lindstrand fokkers, and whilst they are comfortable and offer good protection the armour is bulky and they're brown camo, so not so casual. |

good post! been looking at the same ones, albeit a different seller: see here linky
have held off getting them for no particular reason but after reading this i might just get them
one question: what is the fit like, you say they are loose without being baggy, but what waist size are you and what size did you order, ie did you order a slightly bigger size for comfort (like i was thinking of doing)?
cheers in advance ____________________ Past Bike: 07 Honda xr125l

If n.e is willing to put them upto the Draggin' "drag test" I'll happily pull him behind my bike. In the interests of science ofcourse.
Look good the money, but I find it hard enough getting normal jeans that fit. 28" waist, 30" leg. ____________________
