That is an option that I never considered. And if I'm honest it was my "dream bike" I still love to just look at it (yeah that makes me sound like a knob) , It isn't the comfiest riding position though and I'm not getting any younger
+ I have a couple of things that I'm saving up for so the cash would come in handy. ____________________ Current Bikes: CBR400RR NC29 (knackered) & ZZR600 D1 (Pinky Grrrr!) |

Don't break it, +1 for above
Get another engine off eBay and use your engine for spares

Thanks for all your advice, It's definately given me something to think about. I have come to the conclusion that whilst breaking it it has the potential to bring me more cash, but being realistic I havent got the time or patience to piss about with breaking it.
They are such lovely bikes, I would be happier at the thought of it staying on the road. I should start to look at advertising it somewhere, If i dont get a half decent offer I could consider it as a project of my own in the new year.
As for pics I will get some sorted
Cheers guys! ____________________ Current Bikes: CBR400RR NC29 (knackered) & ZZR600 D1 (Pinky Grrrr!) |

Just replace the engine, imagine your elation when you make your beloved bike work again ____________________ It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.

Engine change isnt all that much arseache realy.
Me and a mate pulled the lump out of my GS in around 2-3hrs. Although about 2hrs of that was spent drinking tea & chatting shite.
Putting the new one in again took about 6hrs total, as it came without a generator, sprocket, LHS engine cover, etc. Parts had to be swapped over. Then about two hours was spent trying to figure out what silly angle we had the engine at in the first place when it came out.
Well worth doing tbh. Just get yourself a decentish quality toolkit. We only used basic hand tools, spanners, sockets, hammers and an old fork leg to slip on the end of various spanners to crack off seized & rusted nuts. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

I've been looking on the flea bay for engines and found a couple between £200-£399.
Thing is, the most expensive one has plenty of pics and more importantly one of them had what looked like a serial no. that had NC23 in it? (even though it was advertised as a NC29). Chances are when I could actually afford a replacement engine I could end up with a dud ____________________ Current Bikes: CBR400RR NC29 (knackered) & ZZR600 D1 (Pinky Grrrr!) |

You could always look for a complete bike and use the rest or sell as spares ____________________ It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.
