Sparks and flames were had, cups of water followed by hose saved bike ish.

Now, afaik ignition was off, batt charger was attached and on.

Batterry now is v low on dist water, which it was not low pre summer, thinking heat did the water.

Damage unknown to electrical components, or if damage is v likely i dont know.

Only proberble cause, a ciggy lighter attachment somehow resting on batterry, poss cause. Was doing work on rear light, earlier in day.

Confusing at mo, poss costly, could of been worse, suspect retardation was the cause, but leave it to BCF to reafirm.

Pics moro. Thumbs Down

^^^You're a fiddler messer aren't you.

Something shorted out? Or battery was low when set to charge? Was it a motobatt. Laughing

That bike could tell some tales.

Could've caused a big fire, could've required a fire engine at the same time someone else needed a fire engine, you could have cost someone their LIFE.

Serious comment though, get a small powder fire extinguisher, I had to use mine once, and it probably saved me the house Very Happy

Er no, see previous post. i have no rabits and i get paid to remove them from other places, i'll train his dog but he will have to pay like everyone else does. No freebies. The fields do not need JCB'ing, whatever that means and if they did I would use the JCB myself.

Odd boy Confused

And a hose, this was after failing to retrieve a bs 429s pink powder extinguisher out of my ass mind, and without said water, the bike would of burnt to the ground.

But thanks for the fire lesson, i'd almost forgot training to put out imense fires on warships, glad i've got some condescending cunt here to point out my fire failings.

I'd be more inclined to point out if my retardation in leaving the ciggy lighter too close to the batt, if that was indeed the cause. Middle Finger

What would you have done then? Assuming he doesn't have a CO2 or powder extinguisher like most of the population.

It is a 12v power-supply I'd take the risk of a mild electrical shock over sitting there and watching it burn.

Yes Sam, and your post would of been double FAIL, had you not been in the possession of one.

They need testing and checking regular, you go to use one thats been stored for a few years, and chances are it fails, wasting you time where water would of at least prevented total loss.

Water isn't that good a conductor of electricity and there's only 12 volts of electrical pressure available so it isn't a shock risk either. It would have quenched the flames and cooled things down.

Yes, that makes sense. Just triggered my automatic "That's a bad idea" response, rather than my "think it through" circuit.

I wouldn't advocate throwing a cup of water over a domestic consumer unit though Wink
