So its time for a new battery.. faulty R/R has all but killed mine. too many discharges.. charges.. and using a car charger
Just need a standard battery, you know, the ones you fill up then seal when its delivered.
Is there any benefit in getting a battery that turns the electrolyte / acid in to gel rather than one that has the acid free flowing?
I know the cheapest of the cheap £20 ebay chinese specials have free flowing acid, but for a few quid extra you can get say a Numax battery that turns the insides in to gel.
I know Yuassa etc do this but they are twice the price and im pretty much skint at the moment.. so I gotta go cheap.. ____________________ ......................................................................... |

The only noticeable benefit will be spillage. If you had no issues before, then you won't have any trouble with standard lead acids. |

I persoanlly think a sealed battery is WAY better than a standard lead acid although I'm less convinced by the advantage of a gel battery over a sealed one. In terms of both cranking power and longevity.
You get what you pay for with batteries.
I just splurged on a Westco GMA (glass matt absorbtion) battery for the VFR. These are supposed to be the mutts nutts of batteries. It certainly throws the starter over like it's going into orbit. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen.
