how heavy are you?? recommended is 7.5 or 10w, but if you are over 70 kg then its too thin, i generally use a 15 or 20w oil,
use 15 if you are under 100kg 20w if over

I use Automatic Transmission Fluid in the forks.

There is a fair chance Honda do too. It's often specified in the workshop manual.

That may be the case as the Honda packaged one for mine does not specify a W rating.

Interested in this as I need to get some soon anyhow to fix a leaking seal. It's a job I'm not looking forward to doing.

It's piss-easy once you have the bottom bolt out. I have had to drill them in the past though (even though I have an impact wrench) so it might be worth ordering a couple in just in case.

They are very easy to drill if you need to. Socket head = self-centering.

It isn't really

Fork oil weight controls how quickly the forks compress, but does stuff all for how far they compress.. However thicker fork oil is a quick bodge to make the forks feel stiffer.

To cope with more weight either use a touch more oil in the forks (means less air, and the air acts as a spring), stiffer springs or if just a bit use some coins on top of the springs to preload them a bit.

All the best

Keith
