Hi does anyone know of any bike garages that will accept my car as a trade for a bike I’m based in High Wycombe (Bucks) I have my CBT and I’m booking my direct access this week

Many thanks for your help

P.S I’m looking for a KAWASAKI ER 650 unless anyone can recommend a better bike for fuel economy. I’m going to be driving into east London so I needs to be good on the motorway.

Hello mate, I'm from High Wycombe too Thumbs Up

Firstly, no, I can't think of any garages that would trade.. Can't think of any that do both to be honest!

Where are you doing you're CBT and DAS out of interest ?

Also, most 500+ cc bikes will be fine on the motorway. Thumbs Up

Could you really go from a car to bike? Sorry it has to be said as i have both and not sure i would be able to manage with just the bike. Could ferry the kids/misses around and get the amount she spends on shopping in a tank bag Laughing Also when the ice comes my route on the bike to work would be quite dangerous.

Unless you have another car in the household.

Not sure why you'd prefer a route with a lot of motorway. From your location, going to east London, I'd prefer my SH300 scooter over my ER6; and I'd go straight through, M40 to A40 to A501. Scooter does better mileage and is better in heavy traffic; of course, if you want one bike for both commuting and weekends / touring, then I'd go for the ER6.

Takes no more than 30 minutes or so to cross the city on that route. I live in Bow, and have done the trip in the opposite direction and back numerous times. Marylebone / Euston Road can be a bit stressful, but with care it can be fun filtering too. It's usually fast and fairly free-flowing for bikes because of the bus lane.

You're probably just as well going through something like webuyanycar.com as using it as a trade in.

Or you could just eBay the car and spend the money on a bike?

Ask around.

I bought my ZX6R B1H from a car garage that had taken it in part exchange for a Mitsubishi Evo.

It was a 2nd hand place.

ER6 is OK for the M/way and not too bad on fuel. 45/50mpg

But since there's little fairing or screen you are wide open to wind blast at m/way speeds.

Advantage of a bike is you never get stuck in a queue as you can filter.

But filtering needs a lot of attention which no one in a car has a lot of I think. Smile
