Hi,

On my YBR 125, if I'm going along and it goes above about 7k revs, I just lose power, as if you just suddenly let go of the accelerator.

The revs go down and either go down to 0 RPM and the engine cuts out, or the power comes back at about 3k RPM.

It's a fault put in there by the people down the local bikeshop ¬_¬ as my friend had the same problem when he took it back from them.

If the local bike shop causes the problem, get them to fix it.

It is likely to be electrical, quite possibly a loose connection that is getting shaken off at high rpms. Check the battery terminals, and any point where the wiring loom earths onto the frame.

What year is your YBR?

Earlier ones have Carbs, later fuel injection.

Sounds more like a fuelling issue to me, if you have an injected bike a fuelling issue is likely to make the fuel injection warning light come on.

I don't trust them if they make the exact same problem my friend had. I'll check that thanks.

How did your friend fix his?
What was your bike in there for? This may give a clue as to what they touched.

He got his fixed at another local place, a genuine one this time, apparently he's retired but still fixes bikes. Sadly I can't get a hold of him as I've called them loads of times but they don't answer.

It was to clean out the carbarettur. I'm pretty sure the guy does tamper with bikes because my friend also said the guy put in a worn out spark plug claiming it was new, and it stopped working a few months after.

The carbs were looked at by the garage and now your bike doesnt work.

Demand its sorted pronto.

For what its worth, i,d be looking at float height and manifold leaks.
