And besides i can assure you first 999 call out they will chip it over there sirens blaring and lump it into a wall/cow/old woman. AND NO car can keep up with a bike.... if someone had the balls to i think a race with a leading moto gp bike and a grand prix car should have a race.... i think its obvious who would win ( altho i know who would win if they clipped at any point) ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

I believe the new 4-strokes are substantially quicker in a straight line than the F1 cars in race conditions.
I read somewhere that on a track, which I can't remember, (might have been Catalunya?) the bikes were exiting the final corner onto the pit straight at 70mph, while F1 cars do it at 110mph. Yet by the time the bikes are in the braking zone they were clocking around 210-215mph compared to the F1 car's paltry 200mph. |

Superbike magazine recently did a thing also.
it was a cresent suzuki bsb gsxr 1000, a stock gixer 1000, and a few other bikes i think? (i cant find the mag)
Evo car mag also got in on this taking a porshe 911 Gt turbo, a lamborghini (sp) thingy (the new fast 200 mph thing), a Bmw racing 5 series, and the "radical" that bloody fast car with bike engine in it.
And on the track...and on the drag strip the bikes came out on top, the bikes were lapping (on average) nearly a second a lap faster than there closest 4 wheel rival, the radical.
bearing in mind on the drag strip (cant remember if it was 1/4 mile of just a top speed test) the lambo owner refused to let his car be driven as he was worried about stone chip ____________________ Bikes owned :- 2001 nsr125, 1999 zx6r, 2006 yzf-r1, 2009 xmax 250, 2012 yzf-r1, 2015 MT-07

It's hard to compare motoGP and F1 lap times, as they don't race on the same tracks, but the superbikes are always 20 seconds off the F1 pace at Monza and they have similar speeds to the cars...
The amazing thing is that F1 is in it's third decade of development, and even with 2.5 or 3 litre engines, pneumatic valves, and million quid single-race engines, they're only doing 200mph.
MotoGP is in it's second race year and 4th or 5th development year, and they're hitting 215.62mph in the first practice of the season. So where will motoGP be in 30 years? Looks like fun! |

I read that test too, only from Evo's perspective. Fair does to them they admitted defeat, unlike Max Power . They said the Crescent Gixxer thou reached 186mph faster than a Mclaren F1 could. |

Hi
The difficult point is that both Moto GP and F1 are for vehicles built to a set of rules. Change the rules and watch one or the others performance change.
While the cars are not that quick on top speed for the power they have, much of that is due to the amount of down force they generate (after all, from something like 80mph they generate enough down force so that they could drive on an upside down track and still not fall off). There top speeds will vary greatly depending on the track they are using and whether top speed is of any relevance. At something like Paul Ricard in France with a very long straight they would gear the cars for a far higher top speed.
It is a lot easier to sling a car round at speed. Reach the limits in most cars and you loose control, but in an open area you can do that repeatedly while you learn how to control the vehicle. Try that on a bike and you will wreck the bike and hurt yourself.
All the best
