im having a few problems with my bike about running it, it doesnt happen all the time but its pretty annoying when it does.....SO heres my problem, when i've been out on my bike for around 10 mins or so, which is pretty much a ride up to morrisons and to park it etc etc, when i get back onto it and start it it runs fine, but when ive gotten around 5 mins riding on it, it decides to not want to rev up properly and dies out...........

i got pulled by the police due to it dieing at a round about and well they laughed at me and said just pull it over to the side so people can get past which to be honest is common sense, but anyway i dont get why its cutting out on me, its a yamaha tzr 125 1988-1990, the powervalve is set to half open (it pulls off at 5-6k revs) it has petrol in it, i dont let the tank drop below half full, im letting the clutch out properly, it starts properly etc etc

so i need a few tips or maybe im going wrong pulling off, ive been on the road for around 2 weeks now and its happened 3 times

My first thought was fuel problems. Could be Just running on fuel already in carbs. When that gone it cuts out. Check fuel tap and/or fuel filter. Then if not that need to work through other possibilities.

Generally only 3 things to check for engine issues. Fuel and air (so that is carbs as well) and electrics to ignite spark.

Is the problem just within five minutes of starting from cold, or does it happen when started warm and run for 5 minutes too ??

sounds like the choke could be sticking on, have you checked your air filter?
