HI,

Just taken my bike in for its first MoT, 2009 Yamaha diversion with fairing. The place I took it to failed it saying the rear disc was warped. When its going at slow speed there is a squeaking noise, as if something is catching on the brake pads, just wondered if this sounds right to anyone?

On the MoT certificate it says:

Reason for Refusal - Rear Roller Brake test indicates excessive fluctuation of brake effort

Its done 16000 miles, and is still on the original discs, dont want to be paying anything unnecessarily.

Sounds perfectly possible.

If you apply the brake gently at a low speed, you'll probably feel the lever pulsing slightly.

It's a common problem. Can sometimes be due to corrosion building up under where the disc bolts to the wheel.

If it isn't that, it's going to cost you a new disc and a set of pads.
