hi i was just wondering how much you can get raped by the police for using tinted/black/iridium visors on the road, i mean i know on a very sunny summers day they tend to leave you alone for the most, and obvious prudency tells you not to use them of an evening. But i want one cos they are cool, but i am on my 6 point probation at the moment (clean at present) and if there are points at stake then i may keep away.

p.s. my agv's visor pods are looking crap and one of them the t-bar inside which locks it on has snapped. I have an agv rossi rep flyer i think

On my old helmet I had a stick on insert which I took out at night, but the stickiness ran out after a while. When I bought my new lid the man in the shop gave me a free black tinted visor Razz. I don't think that the police can do anything at day time but its illegal at night, although I sometimes ride with the tinted one at night if i'm late home from work Embarassed.

i wouldn't mind another tinted strip for mine, might get some this weekend.
If you have a tinted visor on the other hand, if you see the police, just lift it up Laughing simple as that, then they cant exactly do anything about it if its not covering your eyes... Confused

good points. but what powers do they ACTUALLY have, i knwo usually they show disgression... but did u know u can lose your provisional license just for taking the L plates off your bike... 3 points each. No copper would do that really, but its what i mean, maximum penalties?

Also i am quite annoyed about these visor pods (the black bit on the very end of each side that it pivots from), any one know where to replace them? pleeeeeeeeease

I was always under the impression that a tinted / mirror effect visor was perfectly road legal?

Is this not the case?

Obviously you can't wear them in the evenings, but surely its the same as wearing sun glasses and on bright sunny days would stop the glare of the sun?

I want one, but not until I buy my bike. (look a bit silly on a ped with a tinted visor I think).

What i have heard is that visors that block out more than 25% of light are illegel, if i see a copper dueing the day i just lift it up just incase he might wanna pull me for something, i dout they would give u a fine or points though.

Everywhere I've seen, you're allowed to wear a tinted visor so long as it lets in at least 50% of the light in, or sunglasses, as long as they let 18% of the light in.
