Hi,

As the tag line, I am new here and very very new to biking in general.

Did my CBT last week and am picking up a YBR 125 2007 model on Thursday Very Happy

As I have limited experience I got my friend to look at and test ride the bike with me. He seemed happy with it all, only comment was slight rasping at 6000rpm and needs new front break, which the owner had told me about.

Going to do HPI check this avo but vin no matches docs etc so positive so far.

I guess, 1) i wanted to say hi 2) thanks, i have looked at this forum a lot and found it very helpful and 3) any extra advice, tips, things to look at with the bike etc?

Feel like a kid at Christmas at the moment!! Very Happy

Cheers

H

Good solid bike, what's the mileage?

I presume your mate checked the usual suspects;
tyres
sign of dropping - depends on sale price to how important this is
has it been maintained - services etc.

Hey there,
Im also new here and two weeks ago i bought a 2011 ybr 125. I have ridden a few different 125's through lessons ie honda suzuki etc but i have to say the ybr is a fantastic wee bike. Great for gaining some very important experience before moving on to something bigger. Very economical and comfortable riding position. Hope you enjoy yours as much as im enjoying mine. Keep safe.
Billy.

Cheers guys,

Yeah, Mate did a lot of checking for me, and the MOT was only last month which is a bonus (No obvious signs of damage since). Had a good look at log book etc and all the service and mot mileages make sense. Have the full service history with it as well, was serviced at a place in Fulham which I might well use as well. Knocked £60 off for the front break pad replacement.

Mileage is just shy of 12500.

I did CBT on a CG but preferred the looks of the YBR so pretty stoked to have got one. Looked at one last week but it sold. Just looking forward to getting out on it and getting used to it.

Hi,

So I have a quick question... the address for the owner on the v5 doesn't match where he is now. He had already told me he'd moved from Mansion house which is where the V5 has it registered to him

The problem is i really wanted to get the full HPI check but i cant get that unless i collect it from the address on the V5.

I don't know what to do, should i do the HPI check anyway for peace of mind?

Advice is needed please!

Well an update - as the bike was registered at his old address I have asked him to send off the V5 to get an updated address. Once this is back i'll then buy it and he'll have to send off the V5 again to transfer ownership. It's a ballache to be honest, but I wouldn't be covered by the HPI if I didn't buy it from the address where it's registered.

Fair play to him, I explained why and told him I'd understand if he wanted to sell to someone else, but he agreed to do it. I'm probably being a bit paranoid, but my old man ended up accidently buying a ringer years back and nearly ended up with it stuck on his drive, unable to sell it, scrap it or drive it!

Anyways, I won't officially be a biker for another few weeks now Sad but at least when I am I'll feel happier. I'm very glad he's still going to sell it me as well as think I already love it! Very Happy

Check tyres, if stock change them
Check chain and sprockets for wear

Standard, enjoy Thumbs Up

And yeah pretty paranoid of you, I just paid for a V62 for mine so I didn't have to wait as long, he took the money off the cost of the bike Cool
