As you can see from this picture the scoring on the drum means at some point the pads have run down so far and damaged drum itself, hopefully this will be salvageable and will look into the options i have available.
Also you may see in the pic the final problem better demonstrated by the following video

The wheel bearings are goosed and it even looks like the wrong bearing has been put into this particular bike, i will have to do some research and the wheel may even need refurbishing or even replacing, anyone with any ideas on this one i will be sure to take on board ____________________ "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 100 MPH THATS IMPOSSIBLE Its chinese OFFICER."

from the video it looks like undersized bearings have been fitted, if you're lucky they won't have buggered the housings up in which case you just have to measure the wheel spindle for the bearing inner diameter and the housing for the outer (sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs ) and check for which bearing fits - tell me the sizes if you like as I'm a bike mechanic by trade and can cross reference the sizes for you - and the brake drum should be salvagable with a good wet n dry rub down!, also it might be worth checking the bearing housings to see if there is a circlip groove because some wheel bearings are held in place with circlips, if there are grooves then measure the distance from them to the inner shoulder and that'll give you the bearing thickness too.
Hope that is of some help mate, and again - sorry if I've been mister obvious! ____________________ there is a fine line between madness and genius - I have a foot on each side!! |
