Well, thought I'd start a thread on my newest arrival, ZX6R G1 model bought from hellbound.

Photos will be added tomorrow of its current state and should go on through all the add ons/fixes/bodges I do.

Some may find interest, some may not Laughing But hey, its a thread eh!

Info/photos will be listed tomorrow once camera is on location Mr. Green

So... to update the progress so far.

Picked up this bike from hellbound, insurance write off but overall it is pretty decent!

As a starter to even get on the road... it needs.
Tyres - arrived
Radiator - arrived at last
Brake lever - ebay cheap spazzos
Lots of melted plastic/cable tie bodges Laughing - standard
Bits straightening.

Picked it up, got it home and it looks like this.

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx1.jpg

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx2.jpg

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx3.jpg

First thing I wanted to really check was the forks, they seem "straight" with no bends in them, but they do appear to be slightly twisted. Hopefully the front end strip down will prove this, otherwise its £50 to get them set with the yokes.

Removal of the plastics is far easier than expected!

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx4.jpg

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx5.jpg

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx6.jpg

Yeah, subframe is twisted, but we have scaffold bar... Wink

Once this was all stripped down outside and the parts were put away in the shed, I moved the bike indoors to start work on removing actual bolts and parts.

You probably all know that I don't really care what my commuter bikes look like, this is no exception, it won't be far different from what it looked like on arrival aside from being a bit cleaner and perhaps less dangly bits. Laughing

Either way, inside the shed I wanted to see how bad the bent subframe was.

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx10.jpg

That bad, need to remove the hugger to see if the swing arm is bent...if it is, I have sourced a replacement.

With a bit of removal of pegs and bending...

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx8.jpg

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx9.jpg

...I was left with this.

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx11.jpg

https://yesterdaystheory.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tn_zx12.jpg

Any from that last picture you'll see the scaffold bar, car battery and smoke from the exhaust.. she runs Cool Albeit a little rough, but it will get a carb strip, clean and a new air filter/plugs as standard.

Not working on it today but I shall post updates regularly

If it helps ive got a standard set of down pipes and possibly a standard rear shock if needed. Can be had for a very reasonable amount!

I may have some other bits and peices also...

How reasonable we talking?

I'm yet to check the shock and downpipes, have heard no leaking when it started so maybe a plus Laughing

Nice can but I think a stubby on track might get me noticed too much, I'm crap at riding Laughing

That and it may be a little loud and slightly out of my range currently Thumbs Up

Next plan for this is to either do a "Tim" and wire a switch for the ignition rather than the key, or simply wire in a new barrel. Ignition has pretty much worn itself out.

Next plan for me if to remove hugger, drop the front end off and see if I can wiggle it all straight.

Also going to check over the swing arm and the rear subframe as one of them is definitely still not square, so measurements need to be made Thumbs Up

£10 for the shock. I never used it as it came as a spare with a Ohlins shock fitted.

£40 for the system i guess. Again, came as a spare as had a full Leo Vince system.

I broke the bike for parts about 2 years ago now and these have been in the garage since!

I dont think your that far away from me. I work in Purfleet so can always stick them in the boot if you wanted to take a look Thumbs Up

I'd be happy to dress it up and get it on the track, it won't pass any scrutineer tests though... bitches won't dig half a brake lever and disconnected brakes.

Maybe Lydden Hill Laughing
