These:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NITRO-X-FUEL-COMMANDER-POWER-CHIP-FOR-FZ6-FZ6N-S2-FAZER-600-04-now-/390515473379?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5aec893be3

I know i know, resistors in a box jobby, but what i was wondering is if they are a changeable combination of resistors in order to select between the 15 "maps", then could one actually be used to modify the fuelling enough to obtain a correct AF ratio?

I mean the car ones are basically a single resistor ( or 2 smaller ones if they want to look flashy!) which give the ecu a super low temp reading and so add a heap of fuel into the mix - in most cases too much and so negating the possible benefits by the risk of long term damage.

But if with these you can actually select from 15 differing levels of resistance and therefore fuel increase, is it actually possible that you could get ( or get as close to as possible) the right increase for your bike/mods etc?

I KNOW a power commander is a much better tool for the job, am just curious as to how plausible one of these would be as a budget alternative if it was fitted and set on a rolling road?

And no, i dont want an electric supercharger thanks! Laughing

The problem with lying to the ecu is that cold will mean different ignition timing.
Using resistors will make it peaky but wont add any if much total power.

ok, now i could and probably am wrong here, but surely cold = denser/more air, so fuelling increased to meet the amount of air entering the engine, ign timing adjusted to match the amount of air+ fuel?

Im not looking for a power gain, just wanting the bike to run correctly. Ie not lean. I have removed the Cat, link pipe and factory backbox, baffles etc so my bike is now rather lean, all im after is getting that extra fuel back into the mix as simply as possible as a temporary measure.

I will be looking to replace the entire injection system (batch inj) with a later sequential injection system in the future, and then running a Bazzazz fuel unit with quickshifter,TC etc, but that needs a bit more research yet to determine if its even possible, so really i just wanted a cheap quick fix solution...

When I got my Triumph dyno'ed, it needed leaning around the bottom end and richening around the middle of the revs...

Wont work.

Yeah i fully understand that but im not aiming to tune the bike, all i want is for the fuelling to be closer to the factory settings than it is now. I simply need to add *roughly* the right amount of fuel to compensate for the massive leaning i've introduced by removing most of the exhaust system.
That is all i want to use this device for until such a time as im ready to either swap the injection system or chuck a pc5 on.
