He was getting the peg down at points on the rs... and there should still be room to lean more with those tyres, so probably possible.

Always liked the idea of trying... though don't know if I'd trust everything to stay stuck to the road Neutral.... probably help being tall and lanky though.

Erm, it looks like the rubber aint doing much there...
Elbow down is one thing, clip on down is another.

Also, generally in WSB they try to use the power rather than absoloute corner speed.

ah, well thats been done by getting right off the bike as opposed to the extreme bike lean angle i was thinking of Razz
and yes i think that pic i posted was taken a second before the bike was in the gravel Wink

I think the trick would be to do it on a left hander, and hold your bars as far to the left as you can, giving you that extra inch or two Smile

I nearly done it last week. Didn't fancy ruining my leathers though so I held off... Well to tell the truth I sh*t myself when I done it as I wasn't expecting it to happen. Would have easily went down though if I stuck my arm out.

It may have seemed very close but you will be amazed how far you have to lean the bike and how much you have to hang off to do it.

I was easily over as far as that R6 in the picture, if not a little more. I just didn't hang off very much. I don't think I could do it again though if I tried though. I don't think I'd want to try again actually. Confused

I lean over almost/as far as that R6 usualy (see my pics hehe) but I couldn't ever get me elbow down I doubt, I don't hang off all that much but if you weren't hanging off etc, then I doubt very much that you nearly got your elbow down, even though it felt close. Just my Penny Coin Penny Coin

What I meant was I wasn't hanging off as far in comparison to that rider who's actually sticking his elbow down to the ground. Mainly because I started climbing back on to the bike from being leant right over as I went round the corner. All I was meaning was I definetely could have put it down if I had the guts to do it.

Note the person in the r6 pic... he /is/ pretty leant over compared to average knee down riding and he also seems to have /very/ long arms.... which I suspect quite helps Smile.

Toe down suggests bad foot postitioning and that you may be left sans-foot at some point, if it gets caught in/on something on the road. Best to be avoided.

I think I have my feet in the right place. The toe slider often scrapes though.

I think i'd be able to get elbow down without much trouble. I never hang off so i'm usually really close to the ground when getting my knee down anyway.

You do not have your feet in the right place then.

Your foot should be postitioned with the ball of the foot on the peg, with the foot facing forwards. This way, even without hero blobs and with a short peg, the peg will go down before your foot does.

Zak, you'd be nowhere near. You're miles from the deck as you're practically upright! Razz

If I bothered to hang off rather than just leaning it over im pretty sure it'd only take a few passes to do it.

I dunno, was just looking at the pics of us and I doubt any of us could do it too well. The peg would be practically down and I dunno if our bike would go over that far with stock pegs.

I think my bike would fall over before the pegs went down. Pegs are really high up and are pretty small anyway. Good thing really as I'd be worried they'd throw me off if they caught something.

I'd be much more worried about your foot catching something (though I have come off while peg down... but that was on a slightly dodgy bit of road... my stupid.)

With stickyenough tyres you should be able to get your pegs down on pretty much any bike (providing you don't have anything else that goes down first)... Look at some supermoto riders that can get their pegs down while sliding the rear wheel... and they do have high pegs Smile.
