I've not posted on here for ages I've realised!

Since selling my Maruader,

I've been rocking about on an 02 plate Bandit 600 for the last year since getting my full license, and just decided it was time for a change.

The bandit was very clean, but there's a few little bits that aren't tip top, and won't even be unless I spend a lot more than the bikes worth, and being into detailing (cars mainly, aside from my own bikes, but looks like I might have a decent opening into doing some bikes as well) it annoys me.

So yeah, found a really nice 51 plate fzs1000 and have been offered good money (owing to tidiness!) for the bandit, so seemed like a good to time go up in the motorbiking world.

https://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt115/russ528/Fazer%20FZS1000/P1010558.jpg

The fazer has 15k on the clock, adjustable pegs (that I'm going to take off and sell, as I don't get on with them!), Beowulf exhaust, scottoiler, crash bars, shorter screen with the extension bit (the name escapes me!), heated grips, carbon rear hugger, belly pan, new Michelin tyres and is in very good condition indeed.

I picked it up the new bike last night.

Wow... I love it! Such a different ride, so responsive.

I found it kind of freaky that the clocks don't move with the handlebars, as obviously they did on both previous bikes.

Think I'll get used to it quick enough though.

Oh, and it sounds lovely!

I gave it a quick spruce up when I got it home.

Definitely a bike I would like to try.

Fucking clean examples. Can you please take my Varadero and spend a weekend on it.

Laughing

What is kind of amusing, and good...all at the same time, is that the dealer I got it from remembered my Maruader (even though I didn't chop it in with him in the end), thought the bandit was mint, and so wants me to detail the bikes he has for sale.

All of them.

As well as any others he gets in! Cool

(I do detailing as a hobby, by the way...although mainly cars to date.)

Seriously though, could be do-able....where are you based?

Paddy - I'll send you a PM.

Writing it up would be a little boring. For bikes, it's mainly choosing the right product for the job, and then time with the machine or a lot of elbow grease and time on metalwork! Laughing

I've done a bit of wet sanding and polishing up to remove key marks on cars (including my own, when some little scrote keyed it for me. Evil or Very Mad )

That's a lovely Fazer.

And that Bandit's smart, too!

Very nice.

I looked at that bike 2-3 weeks ago. Wasn't it described as having a full service history?

If you look through the paperwork, it's got a jack-up kit fitted. Also, I think it had a Meta alarm which had been removed so you might want to check through the wiring on that.

Yes, it does have full service history (or certainly near as dammit - a whole lot more than the NONE my Bandit had! Laughing I'm planning on giving it an oil and filters change, as I've done with all my bikes when I get them. I'll also srtip and clean the EXUP valve, just as a precautionary measure. No, it doesn't have an alarm, but I knew that as I asked about what the key had the button for.

I've even got a handbook! yay!! Laughing

Yes it does have a jack up kit fitted, which suits me, and I fitted a jack up kit to my bandit, so saved me a job! Cool

You weren't the fella that wanted to convert it all back to standard were you?

It rides lovely though. CHain was a little slack, but other than that, spiffing!
