Urgent! Brake like switch

When pulling the master cylinder off the handlebars, I had to remove the brake light switch connectors (duh) but one of them decide to come apart.

I went out and bought a new spade connector and this is how it looks now:

However the polarity is reversed (or what ever) - the brake light is illuminated and when I press the switch, it goes out. Obviously the wrong way, but this is a major problem as this bike has its MOT on Friday and I've still got still loads to do to it.

How do I fix this? I have no idea!!

Erm, that sounds like the correct way?

When the switch is being pressed, the brake lever will be released in an "unbraking" position on any bike I've seen.

As you pull the brake in, it releases the switch.

Rear brakes often do work the opposite way, however tend to use a sprung mechanism and an adjuster to account for adjusting the lever.

Oh for fuck's sake.

Put the brake lever on and it worked as it should.
