why don't you just buy a new battery?

if the battery is really that dead the plates will be damaged inside it

Whereabouts do you live? I just bought another battery and now it turns out my starter motor was fucked.

Hi

Probably. But would be good to know if it is actually charging the battery. If you have access to a voltmeter then connect that to the battery terminals with the engine running. Check the voltage and that it goes up as you rev the engine. If the voltage does go up check that it maxes out around 14.5~15 volts.

A new battery is not likely to be expensive.

All the best

Keith

Hi

You should be able to pick up a cheap multimeter for about £5, and that is all you need to check the voltage.

Cranking it over on the starter motor does use a lot of battery power. Easy enough to flatten the battery doing that. But I would expect it to charge up fairly rapidly with use unless you are just doing short journies.

All the best

Keith

A charger is always useful. And a new battery might want charging (for best life).

All the best

You should always have a charger. Also there's no real excuse to not get a multimeter as they're so cheap and damn useful for diagnosis

Battery on mine went pop last week too. I'd suggest same as others get a multimeter and check the voltage of the battery it'll need about 12.5Volts in order to get the bike started.

Get a cheap battery charger if you think the battery is worth trying to save. However a cheap battery may only last 12 months so worth spending a bit more on a quality item.
