Quick question, is it an automatic?
Also if manual put it into neutral and brake down from speed and if it judders then you pretty much know it's the brakes.

Wheel bearings can cause this aswell in some cars Or the other option is to take it somewhere like kwik fit for a free brake check ____________________ "Nitrous is like a cheap hooker, you want to hit it but are scared of the consequences

Brakes are important M8. You might not care about your missus & the very real prospect of serious injury to her if/when her brakes fail but does she drive your kids around in the backseat?
What a bummer it would be if they failed when she was parking near your bike, knocked it over & crushed it against a wall !
What a bummer it would be if it were my kids crossing the road that she drove straight into !
An inspection at a local garage should cost you nothing, if you don't trust them then try a few & aggregate the results. Either way fix 'em soon would ya !
It's too late once they've finally failed. |
What on earth are you talking crap about?
Where in the thread have I said I am not prepared to spend money on this? I will get it fixed ASAP, I just want collective opinion on a cause to deduce a likely diagnosis so I don't pay for every repair under the sun to fix one issue.
For the record it is a Manual. It judders ONLY under braking, not at any other moment. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Jon, don't worry about it, the guy's a moron with no conception of forum etiquette or any sense of how his posts come across to other people. You're right to be suspicious when it comes to what garages charge for repairs. But brakes are important . . . if you ask the internets how to fix them you get the likes of Marjay or (shudders) Kickstart to offer their opinion.
In your first post you said | Quote: | "don't trust a garage to not say it isn't and spend £100s replacing the discs only for the judder still to be there." |
In your second post you said | Quote: | "I know, but I don't have the know how or time to fit them.". |
All I have said is | Quote: | "Most likely to be warped disks but hey ! on this forum it could turn out to be the wrong brand of chain wax or even water in your MC Very Happy

I fail to see your issue, unless there are ulterior motives !
Get the fuck down a garage ASAP & get your fucking brakes sorted will ya'. I appreciate that you might be too fucking stupid to do 'em yourself but HEY ! Brakes are important, not only to you but to everyone else who uses the same stretch of road. |

Hi
When braking VERY lightly a low speed can you feel any pulsing through the pedal?
Warped disk would be my main guess (especially if they have already been written up as being worn.
Could also be a build up of rubbish on the disks (or inside a drum if they are used). I would tend to go with this if the problem appeared after the car had been left parked up for a while after which the problem became apparent (if which case check the braking surface on which the handbrake operates).
All the best

unless they have a ridge as a lot of pads don't cover edges of disc so you would be better with micrometer |
