Posted: 11:32 - 10 Jan 2013 Post subject: KOSO DB01R speedo wiring help... Speed sensor colours? |
 |
|
Hi all,
Does anyone have a Db01R speedo who could possibly do me a favour?
Problem i have is my Koso loom has been chopped prior to the Speed sensor plug, so i dont know what colour the wires are that run from the plug at back of clocks to the speed sensor plug...
If someone could check this for me it would be MASSIVELY appreciated!
Cheers all |

I dont know what wiring your talking about, but its not on a Koso Db01r.... theres no wires with that colour combo
Thanks for trying though!
If anyone else happens across this thread with a similar issue, The Koso ( DB01R) speed sensor wires from back of the clock to the plug are:
Red/white - +5v
Green/white - Earth
Brown/white - Signal wire.
Rest of the wiring ( just because i may as well!)
Red - Ignition +12v
Black - Earth
Brown - RPM
Yellow - High beam indicator
Orange - Indicators
Blue - Indicators
Green - Fuel guage
White - Neutral light
Grey - Oil sensor
As for the speed sensor, if your bike has a 3 wire speedo sensor you can wire direct to it, rather than having ugly magnets on a disc and wires trailing round your bike. What you have to do is to wire the speed sensor direct to the Koso, the OE wires must be removed as if you put 12v through the koso speed sensor wiring you will fry the speedo.
Before you disconnect the factory wring, Use a multimeter and determine which wire is earth, and which is power, the other is obviously the signal wire. Connect as per the above wiring list and set the wheel circumference and speedo sensor points per revolution.
Hope that helps someone! |

Well im not asking for anything now, Im all sorted, wired up and working
But my post was asking for the colour of the 3 wires which go from the clocks, to the plug for the speed sensor. Not the wiring of the speed sensor itself.

They are indeed, but they are not the wires from the plug to the speedo.... those are the 3 inside that black sheath! |
