Which one? They both have 24v Hammer Drills. I guess they're not going to be comparable for top of the range, but for £45/£50 it's worth a punt.

I would quite like the digital caliper, but I wonder how accurate it would be.

I got a good Hi Vis padded winter overjacket in there a couple of weeks ago.

The Lidl textile trousers and jacket didn't stand the test of time though, would not recommend them any more. Still impressed with the gloves though.

I use the same one at work (F1) and it's perfectly fine. I have a Mitutoyo one as well but it never leaves its box.

My only gripe is the thumb wheel assembly is a bit delicate and broke a while back but that was just clumsiness.

For £8.99 you can't go wrong.

24v drill will be shite. Made of cheese I imagine. Can't think why you would want one for home use when a decent 240v drill is same price.

I suppose it might not be worth the paper it's written on, but the Aldi one has a 3 year warranty, so you would think it can't be all bad.

I've also got that digital Vernier and it seems OK.

FYI all of the power tools I have ever had from Aldi/Lidl have been excellent. I've just spent the last 6 months using a Parktools SDS drill that was £40 to do a bare brick renovation of my house. I even used it to mix the plaster for the entire house without a wimper.

I also had the vice which Aldi are selling (though I got it from Lidl), I used it for the first time last week and the suction mechanism broke.

Can anyone vouch for the quality of the Lidl ratchet set? It could be a good interim buy until I can afford a proper £100 set from the likes of Halfords.

My lad got one of the Lidl sets a while back.
It's ok for the ad-hoc maintenance and the (ab)use he gives it. Set has a good choice of sockets and doubled up in in various 1/2" and 3/8" sizes, with long reach ones too, so useful (it doesn't look like the one in OP post/offer).

If used regularly and daily it may show some limitations but as said ok for occasional diy. It'll be German labelled and from my experience the Germans are keen on quality kit, they don't like stuff breaking. I have some Halfords Professional kit. That to me is better but as also used for diy I just put the extra cost down to buying peace of mind. I could have several Lidl kits for the same cost.
