Anyone ever buy/install a simple alarm like one of these?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Motorbike-12v-Compact-Alarm-Fits-ALL-Motorcycles-Scooters-Quad-Bikes-/190784929900?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c6bab006c

Seems like a good idea?

I think it's quite good - hooked up to the indicators too and quite sensitive

if you can stretch to a bit more me and a few other members have had these,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200379831192?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

easy to fit and does the job well, just fit it properly with soldered wires or insulated crimps not the crap scotch locks it comes with

I was thinking about getting one of them V2s. Wonder how easy they are to install?

very, if you literally just want the siren bit it's 2 wires, 1 to each side of the battery and plug the siren into the main unit job done. the rest of the bits are only another couple of wires, the only difficult bit is the remote start depending on what bike you have, i never bothered with it

Bought and fitted.

Look at how many of them auctions end sub £17. Seems easier too just hit Buy Now. The alarms are universally made and packaged for several companies. They are all the same though.

I gave up bidding and bought mine from www.theonlinepartsshop.co.uk

A few pictures below.

The keyfob thing is quite big, but never had a fob for any alarm ever, so no idea if thats any bigger than normal. Theres no crimps for the wires too go onto battery, however does work if you just strip the wire back a bit ad wrap them around the battery terminal screws.

It takes as long too install as taking your seat off, strip wire back and wrap it around something, put seat back on. About 4-5 minutes in my case.

It works, and is loud enough that someones not going too want too wheel it down the street with it going off, but struggle too hear it from the other side of the house with all doors closed. I doubt its going too wake any heavy sleepers up.

125db, sounds about the same volume as the Oxford £30 disc lock alarm if anyones had it.

PICTURES!

£17? Take seat off, wire too battery, no soldering, bloody eck yes! Smile Just gave it a hip bump, missus heard it from kitchen. Apparently either I am deaf, or I underestimated how loud the alarm is. Mr. Green

Also set the dogs off, and I am now in kitchen cooking lunch.... Embarassed

Edit

Picture of it fitted :

I'm going to order myself one. I love the idea of having an alarm on my bike. I think it would stop 99% of thieves trying to nick my bike! Just needs a small LED now!

I always go for the N Cook ones. Sure they are about £20.

Piece of cake to fir and come with 2 remotes and an led so worth the extra few pennies.

I personally wouldn't fit an alarm to a 50-125CC bike. A 600CC+ would be fine.

Unless, you ride said 50-125CC bike daily, if not the battery would be flat. And you can't leave the alarm on over night. Well at least, that's on my 50CC fagped.

I fitted a £20 alarm from eBay, now it's nothing but a pain in the backside, battery always flat, alarm chirping away at traffic lights, headlights only working with rev. Complete annoyance. Going to have to remove the alarm before selling. I'm 17 in two months, so 50CC has to go. Very Happy

It does have immobiliser but you only connect up what you want. can be fitted as just a red and black wire to power it and have shock and volt sensing, connect indicators flash and immobiliser as you see fit and comes with led and 2 remotes.

Still 12 volt batteries on 600cc+ isnt it? I thought most modern 125ccs had 12 volt batteries now? Neutral

Edit : Re read post, does your battery have a 6 volt or 12 volt? I know of some 50cc peds that still use 6 volt batteries, that might be why your having trouble.

+1 for the NCS Cyclone alarms. I fitted a V2 to my busa and one to the 600 Fazer we have. Doddle to fit and the company actually exists in UK if you want extra parts or some help. Thumbs Up

Same one and same shop as mine Thumbs Up Piece of piss too fit. If you don't mind messing about with the crimps on your current terminal connections, you can slip the ends into the crimps. Its a lot tidier, but I didn't have anything thin enough too jimmy mine open ^^

I just want something which goes off if anyone hits my bike. I'll still use my boss alarm lock as my disc lock.
