Well, I am ready for torrents of abuse. Here she is, my latest bike. In my defence, I am ready to do some touring this year and my kids love going pillion which used to frighten me on the Thunderace so I decided (like me) big is beautiful! Tadaaaah!!!!!! Honda Goldwing 1500/6. She is in very good condition but I intend to upgrade her as and when I can afford it. I have never piloted a six cylinder before but talk about super smooth!

Fabulous bikes, really regret getting rid of mine.

Watch out for the super smooth torque lighting up the rear wheel, if you get a bit heavy handed in the wet; nicely balanced, but you know how much weight you're hauling, when it starts getting away from you!

It looks a nice relaxing way to do a summer tour.... Or hang off and get your knee down Twisted Evil

I have seen mention of 'wing owners crying at the thought of a puncture though so I would get some Puncturesafe or similar in there.

Nice big comfy tourer there! You can't really go wrong with the reliability and the re-sale value of a Goldwing. I hate the enclosed front brakes looks wise, and i'd like to see a highly modded GL1800 too!

But what i'd really like to see is a proper old school Fast bike's road test of one, in the south of France! Laughing

I remember it took them over 2000mile's of monumental abuse to kill a ZZR1100, i wonder how FB proof the Goldwing would be?

I considered a towbar for about 10 seconds, thoughts of a snaking mini caravan soon put me off lol!

Hmmm? nice Thumbs Up not my thing but still nice in a funny sort of way?.

It`s bloody big! that`s for sure.
If I was going to be doing a lot of trans-continental touring, one of those would be on my list.

I`m suprised Mr Polarbear has`nt been along and had a look, he has one of them I think??

A long while back a friend of mine had a GL/Wing/? without the barn door fairing and I always thought that it was better without the fairing than with.

That is a real beauty but it kinda defeat the object as the main issue was my kids going pillion, didnt want em falling off the back and as my lad fell asleep one time on the Thunderace I thought long and hard before buying the Goldwing. Plus, the Ace is an awesome speed machine, comfy and handles but aching wrists, numb feet and aching neck mean the wing is mah thing! And yes, it makes me an old man apparently but I still have a couple of toys in the garage to keep me feeling young Laughing
