hi there,

i have a 1989 model honda ns125f and in need of a few panels which i cannot find!

i only paid peanuts for this bike so i was wondering, seen as though i cant find the panels would it be worth getting a different bike preferably a road legal crosser (something like a DTR) and dropping the engine in to a different frame?

Does anyone know of any bikes similar where the engine would fit?

Thanks a bunch Smile

Hi

Think the engine will go into the MBX125 and MTX125 fairly easily, but with the MTX suspect you would need a fair few electrical changes.

Anything else might be possible but it would likely be FAR easier and cheaper to source the panels for the NS.

All the best

Keith

Thanks for the quick reply,

I've had the bike roughly 3 months now and every other day I look on eBay and search on Google, but nothing has come up, whenever i search the honda nsr always comes up. Do the NSR and NSF have the same panels?

I'm trying to keep my options open as to restoring the nsf but if i can't find parts i'd rather try putting engine in to something different, I will have a look to see if i can find a MTX cheap, wanting it road legal too Smile

Thank you Very Happy

Hi

NS and the NSR are very different bikes (it gets confusing as there is an NS125F and NS125R as well as the NSR125F and NSR125R). The bodywork isn't interchangeable.

Which panels are you after? The rear side panels are 10 a penny, small front side panels are fairly uncommon but do turn up (but shouldn't stop the bike being used). The NS125F fairing is fairly common while the NS125R full fairing is rare as anything, but might be easier to source a GRP copy. But that is very hard to find is the little piece that goes behind the seat.

All the best

Keith

i need the side panel which covers the battery, which i haven't seen one pop up in 3 months, i need the fly screen/visor. the panel behind the seat is broken but i think i may be able to fix that bit (hopefully)

There the only bits i need panel wise. the is all original apart from a makeshift fly screen (awful job)

Thanks

Hi

Those small panels seem to be available new from CMSNL, although possibly not in the right colour. If you search for part number 83500-KR1 (right) and 83600-KR1 (left) you can find them (€44 each). There are another 5 digits to the part numbers but that is for the colour I think.

All the best

Keith

Thanks for that, I will have a look on there soon, hopefully can get the few parts needed.

How much would a nsf be worth when fully restored (if you know)

Thanks

Hi

Very difficult to know. They are not yet that collectable (the MBX125 that came before it seems to have rocketed in the amounts people want for them recently). So comes down to finding the right person who wants it. Would also likely need to be 100% standard.

All the best
