Need more details - like what work he wants to do, what parts he wants to buy in, new or second hand etc.
Price could be anything from £0 to £5000 and above.
Also, for the record - he could just get, say, a streetfightered fireblade and spend the time and money riding it . |

Cost far outweighs the practicality unless you are CHR15
Even then, the power you'll gain will be minimal. Having a standard Blade will work far better and more than likely cheaper on insurance |

Tell him to get a big bullet proof Suzuki/Kawasaki or Yamaha air cooled IL4 engine, as they can take serious amounts of turboing and laugh in the face of boost pressure!
Alternatively I think the Honda VTR1000 engine wouldn't be a bad engine to turbocharge fairly easily.
1, It runs on carb's so ideal for a blowthrough set up.
2, It has a reasonable compression ratio about 9.5:1? |

Turbo on a big twin is pointless. Just buy a 4 of the same capacity and you'll get about the same amount of power, but with better throttle response.
Same goes for turboing a 600, just buy a 1000 |
