well today the worst thing possible happened to me,
i was on my 2001 cbr 600f
i pulled up at the lights on a large roundabout just outside portsmouth, ready to join the motorway, while i am waiting a black evo vii pulled up on my right, this thing was loud, he obviously wanted to race, it was definitely not a standard car, it was so loud you could actually feel it
i shut my visor and got myself ready,
to be fair, i launched well, i was going for it, and this evo stuffed me, he got away so quick, it was unbelievable,
the cbr was able to match him all the way up 77 mph Laughing but that was it, he was not getting away but i was not catching up.
i could not believe it

im ready to get told about how it was my fault, and i did not get 100% out of the bike,
and maybe i did'nt, but i sure as hell got 95% out of it, i was fast,
this evo was just sick.

has anyone else here ever been licked by a fast car?

The Evo would have had to have been 500hp+ and manual...

Likelihood, quite small. Laughing

What's your bike worth, £1,500? They can spend that on just one performance part like a supercharger Very Happy Used to be on a Clio forum and some idiots had sunk a genuine £10,000+ in to making their Clio's faster (addition of a supercharger or turbo, new camshafts, ported heads and whatever else they do).

I wouldn't be too upset losing to such a heavily modded car... you shouldn't mind losing to something that cost probably 10 or 20 times more than your bike to get it at the performance level it's at; and costs a ton more to insure/tax/MoT/run.

I came across an impreza that must have been towards that sort of power.

Exited off of a roundabout and both pinned it, I stuck with him until about 100 and he just started leaving. I topped the hornet out at 145 and this thing was still going, I guessed he was going 170ish

I'll second that, with a modified litre bike, you're biggest problem is finding something fast enough to play with and knowing that you're faster than almost anything on 4 wheels. Even Ferrari's usually bottle out around 140, and theres nothing nicer than an M3 hitting the limiter at 156 and you wave him to speed up knowing he can't, then dropping a gear and racing away.

Lets be honest now, a 600F isn't going to really be much of a match, it's big, heavy and only has 90-or-so bhp.

ill bet that is every bit as sweet as it sounds,

funny thing is, untill today i have been one of these clowns saying a litre bike is a waste of time, and a 600 is enough.
i take it all back

really?

My CBR6F would run out of steam around 130mph (indicated). Even a standard Lancer can get to 150mph.

Or maybe you've just not met one yet who was prepared to rag it off the line?
