Sat upstairs at work and I hear a loud beeping and then an alarm - and I instantly know, it's my bike.

So I run next door to the window and I see my baby on it's side half way down a wall.

Running downstairs, a businessman who just walked in said it "must've been the wind", then as I'm outside inspecting the damage, another one from inside the building shouts "maybe the wind blew it over"..

So I instantly know they're full of bullshit:

The bike is parked facing into a small 10ft high walled corner, side-stand away from the wall. So to go up to 180 deg, then fall to the right.. well let's just say a storm won't push that over and it's not even that windy outside.

It's either been pushed, or a car's hit it. Definitely. But there's no CCTV and no evidence, so I can't do anything about it Sad

Damage: New right mirror, right bar-end and rear grab handle needed, and the 600F sticker at the back is scraped.

Apart from that, not too bad. There are some wankers out there...

Sad /rant

Have you done something to piss them off? Do they just not like you? Can't imagine anyone at my place of work would dream of doing that to my bike.

Maybe the wind will just accidentally throw a tin of paint stripper over their cars Razz

Well I work in a shared building, so the guys in suits downstairs are from another company.

I parked in a guy's space twice when I brought my car to work when it was snowing, and had to move it, but apart from that nope...

Just wanted to share my sadness with those who can understand the pain of having your pride thrown into a brick wall!

I would agree with your suspicion. surely if they saw it fall over they would help you pick it up rather than just walk by and comment on it in such a way. Thumbs Down

Might as well have screwed his wife and daughter.

Office parking escalates fast, we're currently engaged in a "Be a shame if anything happened to your cars" skirmish with the lot next door.

You'll want to get a camera on it ASAP.

Something similar happened to me the other day at work.

One of the mechanics came up to me and said 'had a crash on the weekend did ya' wtf no? Why? Mentions the damage.

Yep been knocked over and then put back up?!! Clutch lever snapped, paint on tank where it hit something wooden and marks on the rear!

Noticed the bike who parks near me is very close to my rear tyre, call him over on the radio and admits he did it! Didn't even tell me, very pissed off, shows bikers can be just as much a cunt in that department as others. So he has now been banned from parking there and owes me $$$.

Trust no-one.

The main issue here isn't that it's damaged - I'll have to live with that.

My issue is that my life is now in more danger than it was before, as I don't have a right wingmirror (arguably the most important mirror on the bike) - I can't see f** all behind me!

Basically, the person who has done it hasn't just pissed me off and cost me money, they have put my life at risk when I had to ride home on the M55 last night, and that's the real issue I have.

I'm buying a Raspberry Pi and camera module next week.

Where can you get replacement ally-frame "600f" stickers? I'm looking for one myself (black on silver).

It was obviously them. Even though my bike is a shed I'd just pull the fuckers in an area with no CCTV and bang them clean out.

Certain you put the sidestand down properly?

When I didn't put mine on properly... it waited a few minutes and then fell over all by itself; luckily I was waiting for someone, and saw it go down with my own eyes; if I'd walked away then come back to it, I'd have thought someone had knocked it over for sure.

Bad Things

Have a look around the carpark for a sign along the lines of "Vehicles left at owners risk".

If there isnt one you can get the car park owner to pay.

a guy reversed into my bike which was parked in a space... i witnessed the whole thing and felt sick to my stomach! ... i was lucky though as the other guy paid for all the damage... it most be very frustrating knowing someone has done it!! are there any witnesses? maybe try asking people that use the car park that may be worried about speaking up!

Said his bike fell away from the stand side so it couldn't have been due to the stand not being down right..

That's right, sidestand was down properly, and it "fell" away from the sidestand and against the wall it was next to!

If there isn't one, is there a law regarding this that I can use?

The car park owner is liable for any damage that occurs unless there is a clearly displayed sign stating otherwise.

In the works carpark of a place i used to work, some bint had her car window smashed while her car was parked at home.
She drove to work, parked in the carpark and then said that it happened on business property.

As there was no sign stating "At owners risk" the firm had to pay for it to be replaced.
