 |

Friend just got a sidecar, its sitting outside his garage and I cant understand why he got it. But seeing a photo of two bikes made me think - could two bikes be joined together so that both can lean, and have the controls/engines/brakes and steering linked?
Is it possible, and would it count as a car?
I realise to lean, and fit on normal roads, the wheels would need to be closer together than those of a car. |

Korn and ste tried something similar with push bikes as a project for London to Brighton
Ok, they didn't have leaning - it was rigidly connected.
It didn't work out.
Mostly because they spent their time trying to steer each other into solid objects, I think!
I can't find any more examples, but what you're describing is a 'leaning quadricycle'.
Here's a weird pedal example; can't find any more.

Ah, here we go:

Just a concept.
The wider you get it, the more you'll need some kind of diff - and possibly find more issues with the front when steering tightly. |
