Hi guys,
Got a few problems with the current cylinder head on my bike and looking to replace it with a better one, I am looking for one which can be replaced without having to do any work on it with original threads for the spark plug holes.

If you've got one pm me

Thanks

Try Riders of Yeoville; they have had a few new Jailing heads in the last couple of years; about £80 'bare' if I recall correctly, valves are about a tenner a piece, then springs, (8 they are doubles) collets & retainers; even a chinky head 'built up' is around £150's worth.

Only used head I have that's not ear-marked at the moment, unfortunately has a cracked valve guide; but I'd be looking for about £40 + post for a built up second hand head, with valves.

If you have merely stripped the plug-threads?

Well, decent engine reconners ought to be able to helicoil the head, without taking it off the bike, for may-be £15 a hole.

Unless the head is completely scrap, or needs too more work, say exhaust studs too, and is already off the motor, then its most likely to be the cheaper, and more expedient option.

Any hassle finding one of getting the bike to them, is likely to be less than trying to remove & replace the head.

CB125TD is overhead cam and the barrel is clamped with the barrel on low torque studs. You need to pull the cam to remove the head, which means ball-ache of re-timing to put it back together, while taking pressure off the barrel; you ought to lift the barrel & replace base gasket as well as the head gasket.

Them gaskets are probably the cost of one helicoil.

Meanwhile; doing essentially a top end rebuild (see here:-Arrow HOW2: Top End Rebuild Honda CB125 (Benley Motor)), you'd be advised to ponder doing the full works, and getting a rebore, or new barrel kit, while you are in there, and unless a new head, reconning that with valve lap or grind, & new stem seals, at the least.... all pushing up costs & complexity... but old addage is that if you only do half a job, you'll be doing it twice.

Bit of food for thought, speculating on your 'need' for the head in the first place.
