Almost got deaded.

On the way back home last night on a dual carriageway i had spotted 2 dead badgers on my side of the carriageway on my way out so on the way back took it easy doing 45-50mph untill i could see them (didn't fancy whiping out on one of em) road was pretty empty as it was around 10pm, look in my mirror to see a few cars in the distance thought nothing as id pass the badgers by the time they catch up (at legal speeds)

Just start to pass the badgers look back in my mirror to see a car pulling out from behind me fairly close into the overtaking lane at silly speeds and thats when i see it... A black corsa was sat right up his ass racing him and didn't even see me.. feck! threw my bike to the left as hard as i could towards the edge of the road as he almost lost it trying to move into the other lane without taking me out aswell as the car he was racing leaving less than a foot between us

Needless to say neither hung around and i was pretty damn shaken up.


tl;dr almost rear ended at silly speeds could of got deaded.

I think lots of us have had a nearly dead moment.

Mine was when I nearly went in to a car at 1..mph I remember seeing it appear and turn right and then thinking I don't have time to break. Funny I didn't panic, I wasn't scared I just thought thats it i'm dead.

Nowadays i'm one of the slowest bikers you will meet and will be passed by many even cars. Years ago I got annoyed if I got overtaken once in a season.

I had one on my third week of riding a couple years ago, completely my fault, drifted right into an oncoming lane, just didn't turn enough on my moped came inches to a truck, however strange as it sounds I think it made me a better rider... Expected the worst to come round the corner, because it always will when you don't want it to.
