Hello,
Got my self a Kawasaki zzr600 as first big bike and it's stonking for a sports tourer
back to my point the front brakes arn't the best but adequate and has braided lines already but wondering I've seen people fit Nissin brakes to front wondering if the ones off a cbr900rr the early ones fit and if I need to modify them at all just looking for a straight swap |

Not entirely sure about the CBR ones, what you need are calipers with 63mm apart mounts.
VTR 1000 (Firestorm) calipers will do the job. As will many others, have a read of this thread (you may need to register).
But they won't just bolt on. You will need to get some shouldered bolts. I can recommend these.
If you get in touch with that seller, he may sell you some rebuilt Nissin calipers & bolts, (everything you need for the conversion) and even take your Tokicos as part exchange. That's what I did.
You will also need to stick a washer between the forks and the calipers to centralise the calipers on the disc.
You MIGHT also need to file off a little bit from the inside of the calipers since the Kawasaki discs are bigger than the ones the Nissins usually sit on. But this depends on which calipers you go for.
I think it is the single best mod you can do to a ZZR. I love the combination of HH pads, braided lines and Nissin 4 pots on mine. |

My brakes on my ZZR6 were a little crappy when I got it. I ended up fitting wavey discs and although a little better, werent as good as they could have been.
I ended up getting the calipers overhauled and replaced piston and dust seals all round. Worked wonders. ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

I don't know if I just got the wrong blade calipers...but when I did the mod on my bike I had to dremel off a bunch of metal from the inside of the caliper to stop the disc rubbing on the edge of it as it went round.
I think I had ones like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-FIREBLADE-CBR900RRY-RR-1-Front-brake-caliper-R-H-/370525077439 ____________________ Riding: BMW R1150RT `02 bought mildly crashed
Fixing: Also the BMW as I get less broken bits

These are the ones you need for the easiest conversion - you should get some a bit cheaper if you hunt around. I paid £70.00 for my pair.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR-900-929-Fireblade-front-brake-calipers-GOOD-00-01-/251247440603?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a7f83b2db
You can fit earlier ones, but then you have to fanny about cutting a bit out of the front mudguard to accommodate the bleed nipples. The later Nissins are set at an outward facing angle and miss the mudguard. ____________________ Current......Kawasaki ZZR1200 C2H and Kawasaki ZZR600 E7
