Used to use one but it can cause mare harm wearing one depending on the type. Personally I don't wear one anymore and just keep a better eye on my surroundings approaching junctions slower, looking at the wheels instead of the drivers in cars going along the road.
Looking into the eyes of the drivers when they are at a junction seems to get them to think that you are human and some haven't pulled out because of the stare is what I believe. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

The thing is I'm still learning with my instructor and have spent less than 10 hours on the road so far.
In that short amount of time there has already been a few cunts who have pulled out on me. The majority have been of a "specific" type of driver, too! |

Herrrro.
I'd suggest that you're right to get a hi-vis jacket rather than a separate vest, because then you can't make excuses to not wear it.
Mine's an RST Enduro, which has stood up pretty well for 3 years.

With that on, a white helmet, and lights on, I still don't get seen (or perceived) though. Have a look at the SMIDSY weave for something else that you can try. I love it, and time the weave so that I'm moving away from the point of danger as I approach it, i.e. I've already started my avoidance manoeuvre. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Not in the daytime, but at night/poor visibility, I usually throw on a hi-vis vest. I probably should work on being more visible to be honest. Black trousers, black and white jacket and a black helmet is my current get-up... I do ride with my lights on and have a bright red bike though. |

I wore an orange vest, because I could also (in a pinch) use it for work (railway). ____________________ Previous: 2002 Honda CB500 (sold), 2007 Suzuki SV650SK6 (crashed), 2005 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer (sold). Currently bikeless
