So Tesco have started selling motorbikes. I can imagine they'd sell quite a few, especially from young kids that don't really know what they're doing. With the £20 off if you spend £200 offer, and if you can get hold of a staff discount card (10%) it would come up at £1200 and you'd earn £50 worth of Clubcard points. Actually starts to sound appealing with all the discounts. How long until they start selling Jap bikes? Smile

With the Motoroma SK 125cc you get an excellent retro styled commuter bike with responsive handling that is ideal for both novice and experienced riders. This blue bike comes in European commuter styling, and packs a 125cc oil/air cooled 4-stroke engine to help you power your way through the traffic and is also fuel efficient. This bike comes with an electric and kick start with CDI ignition and a 5-speed constant mesh transmission system helps you get the most out of your engine. The SK 125 has cast wheels with a wavy disk front brake for maximum stopping power in case somebody is not looking properly and pulls out in front of you. Plus a 130mm drum brake on the rear wheel. This SK 125 is a sensible commuter bike that has a 12L fuel tank and will return good fuel economy with decent performance.

"packs a 125cc oil/air cooled 4-stroke engine to help you power your way through the traffic"

No doubt then, this bike has a top speed of at least 120mph.

To be honest surprised they aren't tried to sell cars/bikes already. Could even have scrap in cars for so many points, wonder how much they could make off of that.

Why do you say its not Chinese?

It looks VERY similar to a Sinnis Max.....which is no bad thing.

Not a new thing: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/motoroma-sk-125cc-blue-tescodirect-was-1-499-00-now-1-289-00-1177147 .
Drum brake not a big problem on the rear Fowlersrs - recent YBRs still have a drum on the rear and it's perfectly adequate for locking up the wheel - don't really need more than that!

Been done.

Many years ago, I was offered a job running a branch of a new company called AsdaDrive; it was series of franchised car dealers attached to Asda superstores, offering hassle free, low pressure car sales.

I turned the job down, because I thought it would be an unmitigated disaster and guess what...............

The only part that was of any interest to punters, was the idea of having your car serviced while you shop, but there wasn't even enough take up of that, so the whole idea folded very quickly.

I wonder what the situation will be with Tesco bikes and servicing/warranty work.

It also occurs to me that bikes (scooters at least) used to appear in Argos catalogues and, even longer ago, the original dealer network for Tomos step thrus was Woolworths (although I may have dreamt the last bit).

Me and my friend parked outside a Halford's once and we had the same mopeds having passed our CBT's within a month of eachother at 16 and getting the same bike brand new, with our number plates only 2 letters apart and in the same colour.

Some guy came over and asked how much we were selling them for (as in Halford's) kept him going for a while and said he needed to go in and ask at the customer services desk.

Because it's a Motoroma (AKA Rieju), which aren't Chinese Laughing I had an MRX125 a couple of years ago and it was pretty well built and reliable:

I think they're Spanish. My MRX had a Yam motor, so they've obviously got (or had) some kind of deal with them.
