Hey BCF
Just changed the front tyre on my SV for the first time.
Changed from some worn out bridgestones to a Pilot Road 2, loving the tread pattern
Anyway it's only 20 miles old, but I'm finding it's very keen to tip, I don't mean knee down angles, but it doesn't take much encouragement to tip into a corner. Completely different kettle of fish to how the bike handled before the change.
It feels very light so I've already ensure the tyre pressure were correct.
Yet it still seems "agile" when cornering, it's making me a little uneasy as it almost feels slippery.
Is this part of the scrub in period or simply a trait of the new tyre?
Thought I'd just get some opinions to put my mind at ease
Cheers |

I can't honestly say I would of noticed if the tyre had "squared".
You could be right, It would explain why I can feel the difference so drastically.

I found the PR2 to have an almost pointy profile compared to the more rounded shape of the Roadsmart IIs I'm currently using.
Enjoy the responsive steering and excellent grip. They last well too. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I noticed a change recently when I git a new rear tyre. Went from a Michellin sporty to a Bridgestone BT45 and it feels so much more kind of natural and smoother, is the best way I can describe it, when leaning the bike. Feels much nicer and confident going round twisties |

Changed my mind
LOVE THESE TYRES!
Took my SV for a ride around Cornwall, covering over 100 miles in gorgeous sunshine. The new front was still eager to turn at the start of the ride, but either It got scrubbed in or I adjusted, everything just came together and felt planted.
Cheers everyone |

Probably a bit of both mate I know I was riding like a pussy on my first new tyres, partly due to the angle when leaning feeling different and partly due to being warned to go really easy for the first 100 miles or so until they're scrubbed in.
Feels so much better than my previous tyre though and no longer have the fear of it sliding out on me. It was one of the best days for riding here today weather wise too. In fact I had to tell myself off for riding like a tw@ afterwards |
