its best if they were still conected then you can just pull the brake lever until one is nearly popped out then brace that with some wood and keep pumping untill the other one falls out then they should just need tweaking out...
If you try to grip those pistons with pliers or pump grips etc your likely to damage them unless you can find someone with a pair of internal piston pliers..

Incidentally...i used various things of increasingly thinner size to wedge the piston that was coming out first and found they all move so the face of them is nearly level with the face of the opposite (cut-out) side of the caliper. In fact my steel rule which is only about 1mm thick was enough to stop the pistons popping out but got them all to the point that they could just be worked out by hand  |
