Thanks Yaigi. It is as I suspected. Looked a bit of research up but was all conflicting as it usually is but the general consensus is yes.

Yes.
It's up to you if you claim send the tax disk back for a refund.
Just adding that so there's a consensus. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Are you likely to use again? If so I can always put it on my policy for you so you don't have to go arsing around with sorn and cashing in tax disk.
Just saw your update lol. Asking DVLA to remove the SORN should apparently validate the current tax disk again, should you require it |

If you SORN by post don't forget to post the SORN form from a post office and ask for the free proof of postage. |

I'm not convinced that it's been "invalidated" in any way by declaring SORN.
Reading the legislation, the way it was imagined it would work was that VED would run out or you'd surrender the disk, and then declare SORN.
But there's no mechanism in place to stop us declaring SORN with VED still runninng, and nothing that I can see about "undeclaring" it either, certainly nothing statutory.
In short and strictly IMHO, SORN doesn't mean a damn thing as long as there's a VED disk on the vehicle. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
