Hi guys

Had the rear brake shoes replaced in my YBR125 and now they're a squeaky. Is this normal when you get new brake shoes put in?

Anyway to get rid of it or do they just need to be bedded in?

Cheers!

David

Squeaking in drum brakes is usually caused by either an accumulation of dust in the drum or the inner surface of the drum becoming glazed.

You could just give the shoes a chance to bed in and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, whip the wheel off and clean the drum out. If it isn't dusty have a look at the surface and check whether it's glazed. If it is, use some fine wet and dry to remove the glaze.
