Nope, I think it's both feck ugly, and not female, thus requiring the impersonal pronoun 'it'.

Good answer. Now that the obligatory cruiser-baiting is out of the way, do you have any build process photos that you'd be willing to post on here? I'm not a huge fan of having to trawl through external sites for build reports, given that you're already in the Show'n'Tell bit.

Yep she is Yellow and stands out where ever she goes hereon the Island. on peep show's web page under the photo gallerias their are lots more pictures of her and all the tourists that visit out Island here in Saipan. I used to ride bikes their in the UK back in the 90's I had a SUZUKI GSXR 750RR we used to run on the track up their in Snetterton. Man those were some fun Day's and good memories. Quite a bit older now, slower, and their isn't much road to run those types of bikes on here on the Island, so i have to settle for cruising style, lol Thumbs Up

No you didn't. You thought you'd try to impress another bike forum with some pretty bikes and market your business (or show or whatever) for zero spend.

However, I reckon you're probably about to learn a lesson in knowing your target market. Hold tight, it only hurts for the first inch or so. Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

Definitely what we want to see in here, ignore the comments, its basically because you joined with a link to your site in your signature and your first post.

Typically, these are looked on as spam, but keep the photos coming, looks like a strange bike, definitely not suited for the UK at all, but still Laughing

Thank you Paddy for explaining, I never thought about that before concerning my website in the signature, this was the first time I have tried it, out of all the forums I belong to. That makes sense, I will make sure I don't do it on any other forums just to be on the safe side. Yes she does look a little strange during the build process, but if you put a woman on her side, peep show has the same coke bottle curves as the woman, the builder Ron Westra really went through a lot of thought when he built her. Peep Show is appraised in the USA for $56,000.00 with $43,000.00 being parts and paint. Ron took four years to build her, finished in 2009. She had been in magazines all around the world and I could not count how many photo's over the years have been taken, lol As you can see, she may not be right for the UK but she is my dream bike.

No, there's a monoshock in there, being a Harley-based bike it'll either be ~1200 or an 883, and I'm assuming the rear tyre's as large as could be fitted?

Either way, much as I generally dislike cruisers, the lines on this one flow quite nicely; I will admit to liking the fact that the fork rake corresponds to the frame arch, even though I can't imagine it does much for the bike's cornering abilities. That said, I'm guessing that they're not really the highest thing on the agenda anyway, so disregard that Laughing

One of the nice things about bikes is the ability to not conform and to do something personal.

I appreciate the passion that has gone into your bike even though it is not to my taste.

I don't particularly like arse-in-the-air Yamasuki screamers either but plenty of others do and if no one likes my bike, ain't my problem, they're not riding it. Smile

Haters will hate, ignore them. Thumbs Up

That's not a harley engine. I thought it might be a revtec but a little browsing on the site tells me it's actually made by a co called TP Engineering. Smile

Peepshow, I won't be looking at your site again although I quite like your bike. 2 reasons for this, firstly the white-on-black text has given me a headache and is making it hard for e to see my ordinary screen now. Secondly, one word, paragraphs!

All the best.

Ok let me try to answer as many of the post as I can. First yes the engine is made from TP Engineering (Patrick Racing) It is an Evo Harley hand made custom engine. it is a 114C.I. which is 1,860cc so plenty of power to push her around, actually to much for this small island. lol The Rear tire is Avon Venom 18X250mm and no it's not the largest one that I could fit on her but the best size for cornering and over all performance as 300mm + Tires are terrible for all the curvy mountain roads unless you want to crawl through them. however for straight a way's no problem. Their are shocks under the frame so it is not a Rigid, but was built to look like one, saves on my rear as I do own a rigid chopper as well.

Peepshow site - Thank you for checking out peep Shows web page, and yes I understand about the black and white, I have started turning most of the text into Yellow so it's easier to read on the black back ground, sorry 1st time I have ever made a web site so I am still learning, but I really appreciate all the input I can get so I can make it better for everyone.

Thank you again guy's and gals for all your input, I really appreciate all the questions and conversations. If I left anything out I will try to catch it in the next post.

Sincerely,

Mike

Yes.... there is an unfortunate irony however in that the 'individualised custom' tends to have to 'conform' to a 'custom genre'....

So we get parades of GSXR's with polished frames, dominator headlamps and rediculousely angled R1 tail units; or raked out over-chromed Harleys, all blending into much of a muchness.....

And while I absolutely LOVE creative engineering, and projects where people do try something different, even if its not all THAT different....

Sorry Peeps, but, as aesthetically interesting as your bike may be, it encapsulates just about everything I detest about the modern the 'Chopper' scene.

Its yet another cheque-book special 'Kit-Bike'....

Beautifully and artfully created...... by selecting from brochure... and assembled and painted by a pro, to asidiousely 'conform' to type.

It's about as 'custom' as the Orange County Choppers Knex model one of my kids got for Christmas a few years ago..... just a little more expensive!

cimbian wrote:

This is where the 'con' lies as far as I see it.

It is some-one's 'Dream' bike.... certainly Peep's dream bike.... and he obviously has a lot of enthusiasm and love for his possession..... and one saving grace, he appears to actually ride the thing, and enjoy it AS a motorbike, not a bit of obje-da, trailered between shows.

Its creator, Ron Westra?obviousely put a lot of work, and money and care attension into the prolonged build... but we can only speculate what his motivation was, and it was built as a show-bike; what 'passion' the bike was built with, has to be tempered by the motivation that accompanied it; Was it to build a 'Dream', or was it to gain attension at show to gain contract work, or win built awards?

Bottom line is that the word 'Custom' is a perversion of the term applied to this motorcycle. It's a 'Bespoke' Chopper.

And while it may be asthetically interesting.... it is just another confection of catalogue parts, blended beutifully, perhaps, but utterly conformant to the un-written rules of what a 'chopper' should be, and in that showing far more 'comformity' than it does any individuality, ingenuity, or imagination.

It is a very expensive statement in 'taste', that is either to your taste or not.

I have said many times that cruisers and choppers aren't really to my taste, but that I do appreciate them, and modding bikes for road or competition over the last thirty years, I do appreciate creative engineering; unfortunately I see little in this example.

The bike looks good... but its a not very 'special' special, I'm afraid. Just another cheque-book, catalogue chop. A well executed one perhaps; but otherwise unremarkeable.

Perhaps I am perverse, but the customs that I can get exited about are the ones where I can see genuine engineering problems having been tackled, usually with chequer-plate and a Mig-Welder, rather than a Cheque-Book and fountain pen.

Mike,

If you are going to deviate from the norm in colour schemes try looking into CSS and allowing readers to select from a couple of schemes. People with Dyslexia often find simply changing background can make things a lot easier to read... the letters don't "move around" on the page.
