I think it's a cb400n. I bought a gokart from someone got it running and a friend helped me adjust the valves. I still need to get the valves correct. It runs better since the valves where floating. My main concern is the left cylinder runs great the right one doesn't . It was blowing white smoke bad before the valve adjustment. The right side the engine doesn't get as hot as the left side and the exhaust doesn't come out as strong. The left side exhaust comes with a nice lil hard hit the right side is almost like its just blowing the air out. I adjusted the throttle valve on the right carb. Makes the engine run faster so I know the right side is doing something.

And yes I broke down the carbs all the way cleaned them everything's getting fuel. Starts great just wanna get the cylinders running right

Ps where the hell is the cereal number on the motor all I see is c c c

you know of float heights and carb balancing sprung loaded adjuster etc............no air leaks and good air filter??

small vw type fuel filter is a good idea..........( and balance chain, look for dot on balance shaft......if below horizontal that's bad, note adjustable adjusting quadrant )........much crapin filter housing floor.......over

I forget the I want to say the good cylinder was 120 psi and the bad 115 psi. Cam chain looked like a pretty chain never seen one like it before. I never worked on these kinda engines. I have no idea of mileage. Everything in the carbs was in great condition and clean.

Found the serial number under the carbs NC03E 2000087. Also found out I had a bad plug wooooo now I just need to get valves adjusted. What is this cmnsl? And I know I have a bad ring on cylinder 2 opened the oil screw a little and good bit of pressure was blowing out. I looked up the number for the motor here and there can't find any kinda info. Probly just looking in the wrong places. And yes I did carbs myself everything is in the right spot. No harder than a Yamaha outboard.

The CC is written on the cylinder block on the left hand side if the carbs are facing you.

These were pretty decent engines, the only problem was the cam shaft didnt run in any bearings so it wore out quickly. Its the same engine as the CB250N which is just sleeved down.

Could always try to find a chea haynes for a CB400N

It might possibly be the 250 engine which are very cheap but look exactly the same, the 400n engine is alot rarer to find, but theres plenty of the 250's about

Google 'bowden cable'; you can get kits to DIY, or have them made any length you want.

If its not the compression it could be the valve seals that is why is producing white smoke. Also check the oil it may also be a busted head gasket.
