Put part worn roadriders on, tread was ridged up to fuck and crashed within a week or two.
Put part worn qualifiers on & ended up munching a tyre every 4k.
To the point;
Just go and buy a new set. It'll be marginally more expensive, last longer & you wont have to do your touring on tyres someones already squared off for you. If you're touring in august you'll have trashed the qualifiers by then anyway ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

But given the deals watlings usually have on...
Subtract the £30 for fitting to two loose wheels & chuck that into tyre fund. Add £20 & you have a pair of BRAND NEW tyres. They'll fit for free anything they supply, so it just doesnt make sense not to really, especially given the price of anything half decent on ebay anyway.
I get what you're saying about it being a case of when you get five miles down the road they're part worn, however - how old are your part worns? Half the tat on ebays past its best & the rubbers gone off/hardened up so not offering optimal grip.
Plus the roadriders had a realy dodgy feathering/ridging on the tread from what i can only assume was incorrect storage & such - which you couldnt tell till after they'd been fitted!
Might just be the suppliers i've used. Dodgy as fook though. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

+1 to Iain's dodgy Avon, I'm using it now, makes for some amazing cornering, you look boss and you drift your 125 whilst having it skip massively to the side. |

Used part-worn tyres many times. It's no different to re-fitting a tyre you removed yourself.
My local Watlings fixed a puncture in a loose tyre and fitted it to a wheel (that they removed th eold tyre off) for a tenner this week, mind you I did also have four new tyres fitted to my daughter's car. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
