Heya all,

Just trying to put a new clutch cable on my 98 bandit. I've hooked the bottom end on already but now I don't seem to have enough cable to fit into the lever end?

The metal casing bit on the cable is just in the way of the groove on the adjuster, I've pulled it through as much as possible, any advice?

Cheers

Ah I see I needed to loosen the bottom. I've got it to fit in but now once the lever is pulled in it doesn't flick back out?

Check the routing and make sure it's not snagged anywhere.

It doesn't seem snagged anywhere but upon looking it up I've noticed that there is a spring on all other pictures of others bikes attached to the the arm, however mine doesn't have a spring at all, is this normal?

When taking the cover off initially there wasn't one there which I can see as I've filmed it, but I've ridden it fine before.

EDIT: Ah, I've got it to spring back by fiddling with the adjusters some more.

Hmm ok, next problem is now it's all installed the clutch isn't engaging(?), In first gear I can let it all the way out and nothing happens.... Maybe the adjusters again, I'll have another fiddle.

That's adjustment. You've gone from too loose to to tight. Laughing
