I've just got these

I have adjustable levers already on the ER6 (they are as standard), but they don't look as nice as these, also these are a shorter pull.

May seem like a really daft question, which it probably is, how do you install them? By that I mean what position should it be at to install and where in the adjustment of the cable should it be to allow adjustment back and forth.

Leave them in that 1 position to fit.

Brake lever is just a straight swap, remove screw/bolt, swap lever, then adjust it to where it's comfortable for your span.

Clutch lever should go on without changing the cable adjuster on the bars apart from a bit of turning to line up the slots. Then again adjust it for your span or where you want it to bite.

Clutch bolt/screw may have a sleeve (tube thing) around it you will need to use in the new lever.

I'm putting my lower/flatter bars back on at the weekend, bring the riding position forward a bit. I was waiting until these arrived.

Expensive, £16 delivered from China! Very Happy I thought they were cheap enough for me to see how I get on with them.

I got the shorty versions on the FZ6. They fit perfectly and seem to be good quality.

Very nice, I considered those but went for the longer ones with the snap off piece.

Brake lever installed!

10mm nut on the bottom, then undo the screw, swap and put back. Took 2 minutes, if that.

Position 4 seems to leave me just clear of the grip when fully compressed. We'll see what it's like riding. It is pretty firm as the fluid was replaced a week ago and bled through.

The clutch needs a socket to get to the nut and possibly a socket on top, I'll do that when I get home.

Looks good though.

Had these on my zx6 for 2 years never had a problem with them, can't fault them for the price, just as good as 100 quid levers i've tryed on mates bikes, and just as shiny Cool

Brake was fine, no problems at all. I wasn't able to brake hard as such, as it had started raining and was greasy.

Clutch lever fitted. This is a little floppy, but I know the original one was too, it's almost as though it's missing a washer, vertical motion more than anything.

Clutch is fine, but down shifting when slowing rapidly (engine braking) you have to be careful, to stop the rear wheel squirming. It is greasy out there, but It wasn't too bad prior. Think I just need to get used to the shorter travel, as I'm probably dumping the clutch rather than feeding out as before.

Was there a sleeve in the old lever you swapped to the new one?

The floppiness could be in the lever assembly itself. Try gently tightening the allen bolt and nut that hold the lever to the blocky part (technical term).

I'll check later. Proper road test on the way to work, wasn't sure if I'd adjusted the clutch correctly, found out this morning when I was accelerating hard in 3rd and the clutch started slipping! Very Happy Adjusted whilst I was going along and tried again, no more slipping.

Quite happy with them.

hi, i have these on my bike, they were on there when i purchased the bike. They seem like a quality item, however the first 1/3 of the pull on each handle is just free play. Any ideas how i adjust them to get rid of this free play? do i need to tighten the cables onto the leavers seperately to the adjusters? i hope this makes sense?

Sorted the looseness in my lever, there is a sleeve in the existing lever. It's a brass coloured sleeve, which drops in from the top, so it can't actually fall out. Once in, lever was much firmer. Still not sure if I've adjusted the clutch correctly, will find out in my favourite hooning point tomorrow. Laughing

Adjust the cables, not the levers. You should have a small amount of free play, a few mm, but not 1/3 of the travel.

The lever adjustment is really just for span (hand size).

If they don't break at the 'snap off' point, they are good enough for me. If they do (and it's not down the bike connecting with the tarmac), I'll change them back to standard or something better. I don't need to adjust any part of them other than the adjuster. Unlike those adjustable for length etc. So in this case, there isn't really much to go wrong, if I'm wrong I'll let you know when I die.

Remember that one. I have the cheap chinese ones installed in the Firestorm and for the 2 years I have had them in there I have had no problems at all.

So much so I will be getting a set for the new bike soon.

A friend bought themselves some tastey looking adjustable brake and clutch levers for their GSXR600 and most of one Saturday morning was spent trying to make them fit properly.There was a part missing for the replacement brake lever and the new clutch lever did fit okay.But it was not until we made to leave and the bike would not start.For some reason the clutch cutout switch would not actuate,so we had to swap everything back to standard.

So,just because it specifies a particular pair of levers for a particular bike,it does not mean that they are direct replacements.
